Paisana Bailando by Arten Cuadros

HartFEAST follows in the footsteps of the national movement started by the folks at Sunday Soup.  HartFEAST is a grassroots model for funding small to medium sized creative projects through community meals.  Our first event was held on 11 Nov., 2010 with over 50 people participating to make it a thoroughly successful evening.  The winner of the vote that evening was local artist, Ismael “Arten” Cuadros who will use the awarded micro grant ($300) to hold after school art tutorial with Bulkeley High School students interested in visual art.  In a compelling acceptance speech, Ismael spoke of his own experience at Bulkeley, unable to paint on canvas due to the schools finance.
