Legendary filmmaker, John Sayles, will be in Hartford on Wednesday evening to present his 17th feature film, Amigo. Amigo is an historical war drama set during the Phillippine-American War.
Continuing our fruitful collaboration with Trinity College, friends of Center without Walls can see the Wednesday evening premiere at no cost. Just goto the ticket booth at Cinestudio and let them know you are with the “Center without Walls” and you will be allowed in at NO COST.
There are only 150 FREE passes available. So, in case there is a huge response to this call, be prepared to pay the $8 fee.
This movie is a must see for the Filipino community as well as Hartford’s Puerto Rican community. The movie deals with the US war against the Spanish in the Philippines only years removed from the Spanish American war that marked the beginning of US colonization of the island of Puerto Rico.
note: There will be a lecture at Cinestudio which is open to all at 5:30pm is you have the time. This is at no cost to anyone. Cinestudio staff will clear the theater out in order to start allowing people in for the screening afterwards.
